![]() Dungeness picture 16, Dungeness, Kent, England March 28, 2008 I haven't written a poem since I was forced. Forced to, about twenty-five year ago, by nasty English teacher who had a nervous breakdown and cut his hair in a strange half-shaven, half-bald style. And I've never written lyrics for a song. So this afternoon has proved to be particularly taxing. I looked up on the internet the tune a blackbird sings when it's happy and then asked a musical friend to write down the guitar chords for me. A, E, F#m, Dm. Quite hard to play for a novice. I cut my nails and it was a little easier. Then came the hard part, writing some meaningful lyrics. Yellow beak, bread, sultansas, green beans, Parmesan cheese, milk and butter. So many scribbles on the paper and some might be the shopping list. The thing I really need help with is something to rhyme with the Latin for blackbird. Can anybody help me write the next line of the chorus that contains the words, 'Love, love, love is my little black turdus merula.'?
