![]() Dungeness picture 13, Dungeness, Kent, England March 20, 2008 The beach was empty. The wind was blowing in from the sea. Early morning. Then I saw this bloke. He is a proper photographer. He had a cloth for his head and a tripod and an old ladies shopping trolley for all his camera stuff. Obviously very serious about all his gear as I imagine it would quite a chore to pull a trolley along a pebbly beach. I walked all around him and took three photographs, one from each side and one from the back. Click, click, click. I then stood still for three long minutes. Silently. Quite close to him. Three minutes is a long time to hide under a cloth. He must have know I was there as if I'd have walked away he'd have heard my receding footsteps on the shingle. He never once lifted the cloth to look over his shoulder. I like to think that even though it was a very cold day, his forehead was beaded with sweat as he nervously waited for the blade of a madman's axe to cleave his skull. I took one more photo, click, and then crunched off along the beach. Holga CGFN + Fuji Pro 400H © James Arnold 2008 Comment (9) | Permalink |
