When I was a kid I spent many a happy afternoon in the kitchen with my mother baking cakes. Or watching old black and white films and musicals on television. Or doing a nice bit of cross stitch. So it was a pleasure yesterday afternoon to sit down with my family and make a sock monster each. Actually, Lily made a glove monster and Joe made a sock dog. They look great. Lily is keen to set up a glove monster business, so if you'd like one, get in touch.

This is a photo of a cricket score hut at the expensive Stowe School in Buckinghamshire. As an Englishman, I feel I really ought to like to like cricket, but the rules are too complicated and the ball is too hard. I much prefer 'French cricket', which uses a nice soft tennis ball and a tennis racket. Much simpler and much less painful if you get hit in the testicles with the ball. If you want to know the rules so you can play, get in touch.

Tomorrow evening, myself and Amy are going to see Bonnie Prince Billy in concert. I can't wait. For people who don't know what he's like there is often difficulty deciding which album to buy first. That's because he's released about one million albums over the last ten years. If you're keen, I could sent you a free compilation CD. Or is that breaking copyright laws? Probably, but if you're interested, get in touch.
