Number 5 in series of images that remind me of my childhood
Taken the other Sunday, on an early morning walk near my parents house

As a kid, I used to sweep out this bus shelter every Sunday morning. In under quarter of an hour I could get out of the house, grab the broom, get my bicycle, race down to the end of Melton Avenue to the bus shelter, sweep out the fag ends, get on my bicycle again, fly down Rawcliffe Lane to the next bus shelter, sweep the rubbish out of that one too, get back on my bicycle and fly home again in time for a well earned bowl of Frosties. I also earned about £4 a week for my efforts, which in those days could buy a lot of cheap cider. My father worked for the local parish council, so as his son I was first in line for this cushy little job. Actually that's not quite true, the role was handed down to me after my older sister left home to go to Manchester Polytechnic.

A lovely bloke called Chris, who I recently met at my sister's wedding, has sent me a Zeiss Ikon Nettar rollfilm camera (takes 120). He also sent me a light meter. Does anyone know anything about the camera or ever used one? It's got lots of numbers and complicated looking dials. Looks a lot harder to use than my simple Holga.

Also, you'll be pleased to know that I beat old hairy-legged Richardson at squash tonight. He can be the most irritating man ever, but tonight he was a perfect gent. Gracious in defeat.
